Berlin-based band Tristesse blends indie rock, shoegaze, and dreampop into a spacious, atmospheric sound. Their 2021 debut EP Im schwächsten Licht introduced reverb-soaked vocals and dreamy guitars layered over steady rhythms. In 2023, they followed up with their full-length album Die Sonne ging unter, auch ich hatte vergessen.
This German duo defies genre, mixing math rock, noise, screamo, indie, and more into a bold art rock aesthetic. Their striking visual style complements their intricate sound. At first, their approach may feel enigmatic—but with time and attention, it all clicks.
